born on April 12, 1959 in Pilsum (East Friesland); 1979-1986 Medical studies at the Medical University of Hanover; 1988 Promotion (magna cum laude) with the theme "Investigations of electrophysiological, biochemical and psychometric parameters in hepatic encephalopathy "; 1990-1993 assistant physician at the psychiatric clinic, University of Göttingen; 1997 Specialist physician for psychiatry and neurology, since also lead the working group "Molecular Neurobiology" of the Psychiatric Clinic, University Goettingen.
